NOMAD showcased at the European Society for Biomaterials 2025

The NOMAD project proudly stepped into the spotlight last week at ESB 2025, joining forces with our sister projects in the REBORN, ELR_Scar Project, FORCE REPAIR Wounds, NABIHEAL BUCCAL-PEP, SMARTSHAPE, and FORTIFIED in the session: Smart and Multifunctional Biomaterials towards the Horizon.

Some highlights of the event:

🎤 Dr. Merve Kübra Aktan delivered the presentation “Novel Biomaterials to Prevent Dental Peri-implant Infections: Introducing the NOMAD Project”, setting the stage for exciting discussions on how NOMAD contributes to next-generation biomaterials.

đź’¬ Following the session, NOMAD partners KU Leuven, UMCG, and Anthogyr came together to exchange insights and experiences, further strengthening collaboration within the consortium.

📢 Poster spotlight
The momentum continued on Wednesday, September 10, with two impactful poster sessions:

  • Session 41: Dental and Teeth
#869 – Novel Biomaterials to Prevent Dental Peri-implant Infections: Introducing the NOMAD Project
Presented by Dr. Lu Yuan & Dr. Merve KĂĽbra Aktan

  • Session 43: Modelling Bone Tissues
#247 – 3D-Printed Titanium Implant for Enhanced Osseointegration and Osteogenesis
    Presented by Dr. Lu Yuan

Both posters drew strong attention from the ESB community, sparking valuable conversations and feedback.

🎉 Conference highlights

Our researchers not only impressed on stage and during poster sessions but also took part in the vibrant networking opportunities, including the ESB 2025 gala – a fitting finale to an inspiring week of science and collaboration.

🙏 A warm thank you to ESB 2025 for providing such a dynamic platform to share and grow our work. NOMAD continues to move forward with energy, collaboration, and innovation!
