The 5th consortium meeting of NOMAD took place in Sallanches!

On November 28-29, 2024, the NOMAD consortium gathered in Sallanches, France, for our latest meeting hosted by Anthogyr. The event brought together all our partners from academia, industry, and clinical research to review milestones, address challenges, and strategize the next steps for our groundbreaking dental implant solutions.

🦷 The first day was packed with engaging presentations and discussions:

  • CNRS/ECL chaired a session on key developments in biomaterial innovation and initial characterization.
  • Anthogyr shared advancements in designing and producing smart dental implant prototypes, highlighting progress in functionality and durability.
  • KU Leuven provided an in-depth update on in vitro testing protocols, focusing on tissue integration and antimicrobial activity—critical aspects of the NOMAD project.

Jacques Thielen offered invaluable insights into regulatory pathways, emphasizing how compliance is essential for bringing NOMAD’s innovative solutions to market.

Later in the day, participants toured Anthogyr’s state-of-the-art facilities, gaining a firsthand look at the cutting-edge technologies driving NOMAD’s research forward.

The second day featured updates from key partners:

  • UMCG presented progress on peri-implant disease models and their integration into NOMAD’s testing pipelines.
  • Atrineo shared the latest market insights and intellectual property (IP) strategies, ensuring our innovations remain both competitive and protected.

 

Looking Ahead

The meeting concluded with important decisions, including plans to intensify sample exchanges for in vivo testing, refine regulatory strategies, and continue advancing toward the commercialization of NOMAD’s transformative dental implant solutions.
